Voo Doo Queen

On St. John's Eve
 when the river mists rise
the showboat's ghost
 rolls the dice snake eyes.

On St. John's Eve
in the city of the dead
it's a Voodoo Hoodoo
that the living dread.

Hellstone gates, a whisper light
a stolen love charm - a spell in the night
a stand of fallen angel's hair
let the faint of heart beware
cross your heart and say your prayers
yeah cross your heart and say your prayers.

Hoo Doo Voo Doo Zombie
 Hoo Doo Voo Doo Queen
Marie Laveau the Voo Doo Queen
 She'll steal your soul
  She'll haunt your dreams
Hoo Doo Voo Doo Zombie

And if you dare to walk the quarter streets
dare to tread on St. John's Eve
you'll see the witch fires of Congo Square
and feel the Gris Gris in the air
cross yourself and say your prayers
yeah cross your heart and say your prayers.

Hoo Doo Voo Doo zombie
  Hoo Doo Voo Doo Queen
Marie Laveau the Voo Doo Queen
 she'll steal your soul
she'll haunt your dreams
 Hoo Doo Voo Doo zombie...

Just my opinion but I think you re-peat the Hoo Doo Voo Doo line too often. I would describe the scene more I think, Hot~sweaty, Cold creepy, any noises etc. How your body feels, pulse racing, etc, to draw the reader in more.....
